Sean O’Brien – Varsity Head Coach
coach-obrienCoach O’Brien has coached  football at the high school and college levels. This will be his six year coaching at West Ranch High School. Before joining the West Ranch coaching staff, he was head Junior Varsity coach  at Hart High School for four years, where his squads won three league championships.
Sean O’Brien played football at Newbury Park High School. Where, as a senior, he was captain and Scholar-Athlete of the year. He played college football (NCAA Div-III) at Occidental College where he was Captain and recipient of the Captain’s Award  for Leadership his senior year.

Coach O’Brien has been teaching for 18 Years. This is his sixth year as an English teacher and chair of the English department at West Ranch.In 2007 Coach O’Brien was named WRHS Teacher of the Year, William S. Hart District Teacher of the Year, Los Angeles County Teacher of the Year, and California Educator of the Year by the California League of High Schools.

Mike Miller

Head Junior Varsity Coach

Coach Miller has been coaching for 8 years.  He coached youth football for 6 years and 2 years at the High School level.  Coach Miller played high school football for the Palmdale Falcons and college football for the Moorpark Raiders.  This is his 2nd year at West Ranch High School and 1st as head coach of the JV program.  Coach Miller graduated from CSUN with a degree in history and is currently enrolled in their teaching credential program.  He and his wife reside in Stevenson Ranch with their 3 children.

Jan R. Miller
Freshman Head Coach/ Offensive Coordinator
Coach Miller has been coaching for 16 years. He coached several years in
the military and three years at the High School level. He has coached youth
football for 10 years. He played football at Royal High School and Reseda High
School. This is his second year as Freshman Head Coach at West Ranch.
Coach Miller retired in June 2006, after serving 23 years in the United
States Marine Corps. He retired as a Sergeant Major. He and his wife Kim reside
in the Santa Clarita Valley. They have three sons. Coach Miller is currently a Police
Officer with the LAPD.
